Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Consumer & Community Banking Deposits platform. You will be a core technical contributor within an agile team focused on building trusted, scalable technology products in a secure environment.

The role involves delivering high-quality production code, mentoring engineers, leading architectural discussions, and driving automation and AI-assisted development to improve speed and quality of delivery.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring and event-based microservices in a Cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with microservices/RESTful API, relational/NoSQL databases, data modeling and data ingestion frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and debugging across multiple technical areas.
• Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and teams to assess architectural designs and applicability within existing systems.
• Leads communities of practice to drive adoption of new technologies and best practices.
• Mentors engineers and promotes quality, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
• Performs heavy coding utilizing Java, Spring, microservices, databases and cloud services.
• Expands unit testing and CI/CD integration to ensure robust code delivery.
• Utilizes AI-assisted development tools and validates outputs for correctness and security.
