Job summary

Thazen seeks an experienced Software Engineer Lead to provide technical leadership and hands-on support for complex software and simulation systems in Orlando, FL. The role combines architecture, design, implementation, and project execution to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance goals.

The ideal candidate has extensive software development experience, deep knowledge of modern architectures, and the ability to guide engineering teams in integration of complex systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Linux and/or Windows environments.
• Expert knowledge of programming languages.
• Expert knowledge of software architectures and design methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience turning customer requirements into working software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for a team of ~4–8 Software Engineers.
• Make architecture and design decisions and oversee development approaches and interfaces.
• Lead design reviews, code reviews, and resolve technical disagreements.
• Provide status, progress, and Estimates-to-Complete to the Project Manager.
• Coach team members and recommend corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate across disciplines to integrate software into complex systems.
