Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior software engineering leader to drive design, integration and testing for a mid-size simulation program in Florida. The role requires coordinating cross-functional teams, translating requirements into architectures, and ensuring secure, scalable software products.

Ideal candidates will have a Master’s degree in a related field, significant leadership experience, and a Top Secret Clearance.

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Top Secret Clearance
Significant experience in software design, development, integration, and testing.
Experience leading software teams or serving as a software technical lead.
Experience supporting simulation systems, modeling and simulation applications, training systems, or other complex software-intensive environments.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages, frameworks, and development environments relevant to the program.
Experience with software lifecycle processes, version control, issue tracking, and software integration practices.
Ability to lead technical work, resolve complex engineering issues, and coordinate cross-functional development activities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team leadership role within a multidisciplinary program environment.

Responsibilities

Lead software engineering activities for a mid-size simulation development program, including design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
Provide day-to-day technical leadership and team coordination for software developers working on simulation applications, services, interfaces, and supporting tools.
Support planning, tasking, prioritization, and execution of software work to meet program cost, schedule, performance, and quality objectives.
Translate simulation system requirements and operational needs into software development approaches, architectures, and implementation plans.
Oversee software design decisions, coding practices, integration approaches, and defect resolution efforts.
Support software team management, including work assignment, technical mentoring, collaboration, and performance support for assigned personnel.
Coordinate software development activities with systems engineering, test, integration, cybersecurity, configuration management, and program management teams.
Contribute to software architecture, interface design, data flow design, and technical baseline management for simulation solutions.
