Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within the Global Banking Technology team. You will design and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and UI experiences using Java, Python, and React, while delivering secure data flows and reliable production-grade systems.

You will also lead AI-assisted engineering practices, build RAG pipelines, and ensure robust observability, security, and performance across the stack in a large corporate environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency with AWS, Terraform, GitHub, Jenkins, and modern developer tooling.
• Experience leading AI-assisted software development tools with validation expectations.
• Strong understanding of secure engineering, resiliency, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex software components across backend services, APIs, and UI experiences.
• Build and refine agentic capabilities using the Smart SDK with tool integration.
• Drive team adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality and speed.
• Apply SDLC tools and automation to improve value and reliability.
• Develop and optimise RAG pipelines end-to-end for AI/analytics workflows.
• Write secure, high-quality production code and mentor peers.
• Drive operational excellence by automating repetitive tasks and improving stability.
• Engineer data and search solutions using PostgreSQL and OpenSearch.
• Contribute to cloud-native engineering on AWS with Terraform and CI/CD.
• Participate in technical evaluations with partners and vendors.
• Champion modern engineering practices and knowledge sharing.
