Job summary

Bonterra is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join a mission-driven engineering team. You will design, build, and maintain reliable microservices using Go for backend APIs and Angular for frontend applications, with OpenAPI specifications and Kubernetes orchestration.

You will drive architectural decisions, mentor junior engineers, and apply AI-powered tools to accelerate development while delivering high-quality software to support nonprofits and social impact initiatives.

Qualifications

5+ years of full-stack software development experience, including production systems.
Strong experience with Go for backend development and RESTful APIs.
Proficiency with Angular (15+) and TypeScript for frontend development.
Solid understanding of microservices architecture and inter-service communication.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and AWS environments.
Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain microservices in a large-scale distributed architecture using Go and Angular.
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
Build scalable Angular UI applications and contribute to shared component libraries.
Work within a microservices ecosystem using Kubernetes/Helm for orchestration and deployment.
Implement testing with Ginkgo for Go and Jest/Cypress for Angular.
Lead architecture decisions spanning multiple services and mentor junior engineers.
Experiment with AI tools and LLMs to accelerate development and improve UX.
