JPMorgan Chase in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design and develop advanced software solutions, drive AI-assisted engineering adoption, and ensure secure, high-quality production code. You will guide architectural evaluations, mentor teams, and promote enterprise standards across the SDLC.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Python/Java, microservices/AWS, Oracle databases, and strong OO design, plus leadership and collaboration skills in complex environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and/or Math.
• 5+ years Python / Java applications development experience (Python / Core Java / Advanced Java / Spring / Hibernate / JAXB / REST Web Services).
• 5+ years of Microservices / AWS cloud development.
• 5+ years of strong relational database development (Oracle) and Object-Oriented databases.
• Experience leading the use of AI-assisted development tools with validation standards for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows with secure data handling.
• Knowledge of multi-threaded programming and memory management.
• Knowledge of Unix shell scripting.
• Hands-on system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Strong object-oriented design skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting.
• Develop secure production code and review code written by others.
• Drives adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and establishes validation standards.
• Uses SDLC tools including enterprise AI-assisted development to improve automation value.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation to improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on architectures.
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering for new technologies.
• Contributes to a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
