Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer in Jersey City to design, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions within Corporate Technology.

You will collaborate with an agile team, contribute hands-on code, and establish engineering standards across platforms and environments. You will drive architecture work across APIs, data, and services, while partnering with Data Science to move models into reliable, observable services.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise solutions.
• Strong hands-on design and delivery of end-to-end architectures.
• Expertise in Java 11/17+ and Spring Boot microservices.
• Proficiency in Python for services, automation, and data/ML tasks.
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven patterns.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, testing, and secure-by-design delivery.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration and MLOps concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture across applications, APIs, data, integrations, and environments.
• Translate business requirements into high- and low-level designs with clear trade-offs.
• Define integration patterns and service contracts (REST/gRPC) with versioning and SLAs.
• Contribute Java/Spring Boot and Python code for reference implementations and POCs.
• Lead design spikes, performance investigations, and root-cause analysis.
• Drive production issue triage and sustainable fixes with operational learning.
• Establish engineering standards via reusable components and templates.
• Design production patterns for AI/ML capabilities and model deployment.
• Collaborate with Data Science to move models to scalable, observable services.
• Implement responsible AI controls and secure-by-design SDLC practices.
• Define and deliver NFRs for availability, latency, scalability, and observability.
