Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to advance secure, scalable technology across Risk Technology within Corporate Technology. You will be a core contributor driving data-driven solutions using Snowflake, Databricks, Spark and AWS services.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted development, CI/CD, and leadership for junior engineers. The position requires 5+ years of software/data engineering experience, strong Python/SQL skills, and deep knowledge of modern data platforms.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software / data engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s) and framework(s) (Python 3, ETL, Spark, Snowflake, Databricks, SQL, NoSQL, Terraform-based deployments).
• Experience with data migration and platform migration for data projects, including planning and execution.
• Understanding of CI/CD, Application Resiliency, Security, and full SDLC.
• Experience leading use of AI-assisted software development tools with validation of AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions and tackles complex problems beyond routine approaches.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code with limited guidance.
• Drives adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and reliability.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve automation value.
• Implements data solutions using Snowflake with data modeling and secure sharing.
• Develops ETL workflows using Python, Databricks, and Spark for scalable data processing.
• Gathers and analyzes large data sets to drive improvements and reporting.
• Provides architectural guidance to junior engineers and leads on projects.
