Job summary

Fifth Third Bank seeks a Lead Software Engineer for its Agentic Engineering team in Farmington Hills, MI. Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Track record of shipping systems that run in production.
• Experience leading technical delivery and mentoring engineers.
• Experience building agentic or multi-step automated systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of a workstream from prototype to production.
• Set and uphold engineering standards for patterns, tooling, testing and observability.
• Build the agent platform hands-on, including shared services and protocols.
• Spend substantial time coding, prototyping hard problems, and pairing with engineers.
• Ensure agents are reliable, cost-efficient, and stay within guardrails over time.
• Mentor and review designs and code, helping engineers overcome tough problems.
