Launching Point is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for a fully remote role in the United States. You will provide technical leadership across core subsystems of our simulation software platform and guide architectural decisions to deliver complex features with autonomy.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in CS, 5 years of desktop development experience, and proficiency in modern C/C++ (C14+), Visual Studio 2019+, and MFC for Windows UI.

  • 5 years of desktop software development experience, preferably in simulation.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ (C14+).
  • Experience building Windows applications with Visual Studio 2019+.
  • Experience with MFC for Windows UI.
  • Experience with object serialization (XML/JSON).
  • Experience applying ML to simulation.

Lead Software Engineer

Job Scope:

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the core subsystems for simulation software platform. You will guide architectural decisions, champion modern engineering practices, lead the delivery of complex features, and safeguard the long-term health of the codebase. You will operate with significant autonomy and act as a trusted expert in your domain.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in desktop software development, ideally from a simulation software background
  • Proficiency in modern C (C 14 or later).
  • Experience developing Windows applications with Visual Studio (2019 or later).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) for Windows UI development.
  • Experience with object serialization and structured data formats (e.g., XML, JSON)
  • Applying ML to simulation
