Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to own design and delivery of scalable, cloud-native data platforms. You will guide platform strategy, set engineering standards, and lead a team building Angular-powered and event-driven systems driving critical business outcomes.

You will collaborate with AI, cloud transformation initiatives and a culture of tech excellence, gaining autonomy to pursue ideas and grow your skills while mentoring others.

Qualifications

• 8 to 10 years of software engineering experience in building scalable, UX-driven applications and distributed systems architecture.
• Strong proficiency in Angular and TypeScript, with solid knowledge of Java and Python.
• Extensive experience with AWS, including S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and EventBridge; Kubernetes; and IaC tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Kafka and event-driven messaging (SNS, SQS); relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Aurora, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis).
• Data warehousing, Delta Lake architectures, data lakes, PySpark and Apache Spark.
• CI/CD and DevOps practices with Jenkins and GitHub/GitLab; strong testing and analytical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver cloud-native data platforms on AWS using REST APIs, microservices, and Kafka-driven event architectures.
• Apply hands-on expertise across Angular, TypeScript, and SQL/NoSQL databases to solve engineering challenges at scale.
• Drive product-wide technical initiatives for performance, scalability, reliability, security, governance, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with global teams to translate strategic objectives into robust technical solutions.
• Own the software development lifecycle from requirements through deployment, observability, and documentation.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous technical growth.
