Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking an experienced Lead Data Integration Engineer to guide a data solutions team in architecting and maintaining enterprise-grade data pipelines. You will lead 5+ engineers, shape cloud-native and hybrid architectures, and drive best practices across CI/CD, security, and data modeling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data management, database design, migration, storage, and data modeling.
• Experience leading 4–7 engineers is highly preferred.
• Hands-on with ETL tools (Talend, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, GCP Dataflow, NiFi).
• Strong orchestration with Airflow or similar schedulers.
• Production coding in SQL, Python (PySpark, Pandas), Scala, SparkSQL, or Bash.
• Cloud platforms knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP) with big data warehousing (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, Synapse).
• Understanding of cloud security and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, PI).
• Ability to write technical designs, mapping docs, and data lineage reports.
• Excellent English communication for international clients and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead a team of data integration and ETL engineers; manage sprint planning and risk.
• Conduct code reviews and establish testing frameworks for secure, performant code.
• Champion modern software practices including CI/CD, Git, modular design, automated alerts, and monitoring.
• Architect end-to-end data pipelines using serverless or hybrid setups.
• Establish robust pipeline scheduling and orchestration (Airflow/Astronomer or cloud schedulers).
• Design and maintain scalable data models, data lakes, lakehouses, and data warehouses.
• Implement CDC, micro-batching and delta extracts; maintain partitions.
• Translate complex requirements into technical specifications and data-flow diagrams.
• Present architectures and ROI to C-level client executives.
