Overview

We are seeking a Lead Social Media Strategist to develop and execute impactful digital content strategies for Microsoft's cloud business. This senior role involves cross-functional collaboration across creative, analytics, blog, events, community, and YouTube teams to ensure a strategic, integrated, and measurable social approach. The candidate should have proven B2B experience, a sharp editorial eye, and the ability to think cross-functionally across content, channels, and campaigns.

Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Leadership & Subject Matter Expertise
    • Serve as the primary strategist for your assigned customer solution areas.
    • Develop and implement holistic social strategies based on audience insights and platform best practices.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure strategic alignment.
    • Provide thought leadership on the social landscape and advise on platform investments.
    • Contribute to process improvements and governance around social demand generation.
  2. Execution & Cross-functional Partnership
    • Oversee social programming and content calendar execution.
    • Approve creative and copy, ensuring brand consistency.
    • Lead cross-functional meetings to build trust and momentum.
    • Partner with analytics teams to measure and optimize performance.
    • Manage agency relationships and social asset development.
  3. Team & People Management
    • Manage 2–4 direct reports, providing coaching and growth opportunities.
    • Support team health and workload management.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
Qualifications
  • 5–7 years of marketing experience.
  • 2+ years managing social media programs and strategy.
  • Experience leading and developing a team.
  • Expertise in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram).
  • Strong data interpretation skills for strategy development.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Microsoft experience and social listening skills are a plus.

Additional Details

Compensation Range: $110,000 - $115,000 (based on experience and internal factors)
