Job summary

Winpak Films in Senoia, GA seeks a High-Speed Slitter Lead to join the Production team on a rotating night shift (8pm-8am). You will lead the slitting crew, set up high-speed equipment, troubleshoot issues, ensure quality, and coordinate with maintenance and other departments to keep production moving smoothly.

The role requires 3+ years in slitting or related manufacturing, strong safety focus, and ability to work 12-hour nights onsite.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in high-speed slitting, extrusion, or related converting manufacturing.
  • Experience setting up and operating industrial slitting equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting slitting and winding processes.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn production systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support operators, apprentices, and material handlers on the assigned shift to achieve production goals.
  • Set up and operate high-speed slitting equipment while minimizing scrap and downtime.
  • Monitor processes and finished products to identify defects and equipment concerns.
  • Troubleshoot slitting and winding issues and communicate maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate raw materials, packaging, and core requirements for production.
  • Complete production reports, quality measurements, and documentation accurately.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure PPE compliance.
  • Train team members on equipment operation, processes, and safety.
  • Prepare area and equipment for incoming shift to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and collaborate with other departments.

Job description

Winpak Films is seeking a High-Speed Slitter Lead to join our Production team based out of Senoia, GA on a rotating night shift schedule (8pm-8am).

Reporting to the Slitting Supervisor, this role will provide hands‑on leadership to the slitting team while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The High-Speed Slitter Lead will help coordinate daily production activities, troubleshoot equipment and process issues, support team training, and ensure a smooth transition between shifts. This is an opportunity for an experienced slitting professional to take on a key leadership role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support operators, apprentices, and material handlers on the assigned shift, providing direction and assistance to ensure production goals are achieved.
  • Set up and operate high-speed slitting equipment while minimizing scrap, downtime, and production interruptions.
  • Monitor production processes and finished products to identify quality issues, defects, splice-outs, and equipment concerns.
  • Troubleshoot slitting and winding issues and communicate maintenance or equipment concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Coordinate raw material, packaging, and core requirements to support current and upcoming production needs.
  • Complete required production reports, quality measurements, and documentation accurately and ensure materials are properly palletized, packaged, and returned to stock when appropriate.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure team members follow company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Train and support team members on equipment operation, production processes, quality requirements, and safe work practices.
  • Prepare equipment, materials, and the work area for the incoming shift to support a smooth transition.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment while collaborating with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and other departments as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in high-speed slitting, extrusion, or a related converting manufacturing environment.
  • Experience setting up and operating industrial slitting equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting slitting and winding processes.
  • Ability to use measurement equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to identify product quality defects and follow established quality requirements.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use production systems and software.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, production documentation, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and consistently follow safety requirements.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading or training employees in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience in a converting or blown-film manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with production systems such as Movex, Rubex, E-File, One-Factory, MES, or WinConnect.
  • Experience coordinating production activities and preparing for shift changes.
  • This position is full-time and operates on a 12-hour night shifts (8:00pm-8:00am).
  • This position is 100% onsite in Senoia, GA.
  • The role requires the ability to lift up to 50pounds, with frequent lifting and movement of materials. Assistance from a co-worker may be required when maneuvering heavier materials.
  • The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, stair climbing, reaching, and squatting.

Compensation range: $22-$24/hour

The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise and is subject to vary.
