Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Solutions Design Engineer to drive design of transportation and warehousing solutions in the United States.

You will support the pursuit team from bid through startup, develop optimizations, and deliver compelling proposals that win business. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 6+ years in transportation and warehousing industries, plus strong Simio experience and expertise in tools like JDA, Llamasoft, and Tableau.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering is required.
• Six years or more in the Transportation industry (e.g., Truckload, Intermodal, LTL) are required.
• Six years or more in the Warehousing/Manufacturing industry (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Warehouse Operations) are required.
• Microsoft Office Suite skills with emphasis on Access, Excel and PowerPoint expert required.

Responsibilities

• Support bid submissions by reviewing RFPs, clarifying gaps, and developing initial solution hypotheses.
• Validate data, cleanse datasets, profile baselines, and define scenarios for modelling.
• Develop labor, equipment, facility and expense assumptions for transportation and warehousing design.
• Create process flows and operation concepts aligned with win strategy; coordinate with IT for systems development.
• Lead presentations and reviews with customers and cross-functional bid teams.
• Oversee implementation follow-up to ensure deployment matches plan.
• Advance engineering tools and methodologies for best practices in design networks.
• Lead consulting projects addressing customer pain-points with proposed solutions.
