Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Solutions Design Engineer to advance design and delivery of Transportation and Warehouse solutions.

You will develop feasible, financially valuable designs and engage with customers to win new business and shape wins plans. You will apply deep knowledge of logistics networks, simulation tools like Simio, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition proposals into operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering.
• Six (6) years in Transportation industry required.
• Six (6) years in Warehousing and/or Manufacturing industry required.
• MS Office Suite with emphasis on Access, Excel and PowerPoint expert.
• Visualization (Tableau) and database programming intermediate preferred.
• Simio experience REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs, clarify objectives, and develop initial hypotheses for a solution design that solves customer needs.
• Data validation, cleansing, profiling, baseline development & defining scenarios to model.
• Calculate labor, equipment, facility and expense requirements; develop processes and cost models with IT.
• Develop optimization scenarios aligned with objectives.
• Meet with customers and bid teams; support technical reviews and design validation meetings.
• Implementation follow-up to ensure deployed processes match plan.
• Develop and improve engineering tools and methodologies for best practices.
• Lead consulting projects to understand customer pain-points and present solutions.
