Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Solutions Design Engineer to grow our Supply Chain Solutions and Dedicated Transportation offerings by developing, designing and winning new business through value-focused logistics design and compelling proposals.

You will lead a pursuit team, specialize across multiple design disciplines, and mentor junior engineers while translating complex requirements into feasible, optimized designs and owning the process from bid to startup.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering.
Six years or more in the Transportation industry (Truckload, Multi-stop TL, LTL, Intermodal, etc.).
Six years or more in Warehousing and/or Manufacturing operations.
Microsoft Office Suite skills with emphasis on Access, Excel and PowerPoint (expert).
Knowledge of visualization tools (Tableau) and database programming (intermediate).
Simio experience REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

Support bid submission by reviewing RFPs and developing initial hypotheses for a solution design.
Validate data, cleansing, profiling, and baseline development.
Define labor, equipment, facility, and expense requirements for logistics designs.
Develop optimization scenarios aligned with winning strategy and collaborate with Pricing.
Lead projects involving understanding customer pain-points and presenting solutions.
Mentor a small team of SD engineers and ensure smooth startup transition.
