Job summary

Martin Transportation Systems (MTS) in Flint, MI is seeking an experienced Working Shop Foreman to oversee a three-shift maintenance operation, supervise technicians, and perform repairs and maintenance on tractors and trailers.

This hands-on leadership role requires strong communication, inventory control, and collaboration with operations and drivers to ensure maximum uptime and safe shop practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of diesel mechanic experience.
• Experience working with Cummins engines.
• Experience working with Detroit engines.
• Knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a three-shift maintenance operation.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers.
• Coordinate shop workflow to maximize equipment uptime.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain inventory records.
• Monitor maintenance costs and ensure safety compliance.
