Job summary

Marten Transport, Ltd. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to direct tractor repair activities and ensure safety and reliability across our fleet.

You will lead maintenance staff, manage the parts function, oversee warranty and quality control, and collaborate with foremen to hit daily targets across terminals. You will also handle road service calls, manage fleet equipment, fuel processes, and the tire program, while maintaining strong relationships with drivers, vendors, and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance staff in repair and maintenance of tractors and trailers, fostering teamwork.
• Handle road service and troubleshooting over the phone.
• Manage parts function, purchasing, and issue purchase orders as needed.
• Oversee quality control efforts for terminal operations.
• Oversee warranty program.
• Collaborate with Foreman to achieve daily goals.
• Manage all computer and telephone activities.
• Handle driver issues as necessary.
• Oversee terminal fuel process.
• Responsible for company vehicles.
• Manage tire program.
• Oversee terminal maintenance budget.
• Serve as resource for foremen on personnel issues (PTO, hiring, discipline).
• Interact with drivers for counseling, problem resolution, and general assistance.
• Serve as liaison to local community groups, regulatory bodies, law enforcement, and Marten vendors.
• Monitor yard and facilities for compliance and maintain a professional environment.
• Assist Terminal Management with daily responsibilities.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
