Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Shipping Team Lead at our Wendell, NC site. This first-shift role (7:30 AM–4:00 PM) overseess all shipping and material handling operations, forklift activities, inbound/outbound processing, and inventory control.

You will mentor staff, help implement Lean improvements, and ensure safe, compliant warehouse practices. Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in manufacturing shipping, forklift proficiency, SAP experience, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in the shipping department of a manufacturing plant.
• 5S/6S experience is a plus.
• Proficient with SAP – ERP system and RF devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead all shipping and material handling operations, including inbound materials, auditing, replenishment, put-away, inventory control, and warehouse activities.
• Operate warehouse equipment including stand-up reach trucks, stand-up order pickers, sit-down forklifts, and a Yard Jockey for trailer positioning; use hand, battery, electrical, and air-powered tools as needed.
• Receive, inspect, verify, and document incoming materials, supplies, and products, including processing damage claims per established procedures.
• Maintain inventory accuracy while supporting 5S+, Lean (8 Wastes, VSM, Kaizens, Standard Work), and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support team success by keeping areas clean, safe, and functional, training new employees, assisting with SAP access, and identifying process improvements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
