Job summary

Modigent seeks a Service Retrofit Foreman I - Sheet Metal in Phoenix, AZ to lead a field crew performing retrofit and installation of ductwork, DX split systems, RTUs, VAV, and VRF projects with emphasis on safety and quality. You will coordinate with superintendents and clients, read blueprints, and drive on-site execution to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of field experience in commercial HVAC/sheet metal installation, retrofit, and service.
• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
• Universal EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Certification; OSHA 30-hour; valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a sheet metal crew on daily retrofit and service tasks for DX split systems, rooftop units, and VRF systems.
• Coordinate scheduling with superintendents, customers, and internal teams; provide daily status updates.
• Read and execute work from blueprints and scope documents to ensure accurate layout, fabrication, and installation.
• Oversee complete installations, retrofits, and replacements of HVAC equipment and ductwork per codes and standards.
• Manage on-site functions: crew assignments, material coordination, timecards, and daily logs.
• Enforce safety protocols, conduct hazard analyses, toolbox talks, and ensure PPE usage.
• Interact professionally with customers, addressing concerns and building relationships.
• Document work accurately (logs, reports, photos, as-builts) and submit timely to teams.
• Mentor crew members on sheet metal techniques, safety, and quality workmanship.
• Collaborate with project managers and other trades to resolve issues and maintain schedule.
