Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Service Lead at our Kent, WA branch to support the Branch/Service Managers in shop flow and service quality. You will prioritize repairs, manage downtime, and ensure timely documentation and safety compliance.

Expect a 40-hour week with OT as needed and a pay range reflecting experience. The role involves supervising mechanics, coordinating with the office, and maintaining a safe, clean shop environment while delivering high-quality service and training others

Qualifications

• Consistently adhere to safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Possess mechanical knowledge of construction equipment.
• Ability to demonstrate basic computer and typing skills.
• Ability to focus on details and complete tasks with accuracy.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English, bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to establish daily work priorities of shop and yard employees.
• Facilitate effective communication with shop via huddles, meetings, and one-on-one interactions.
• Assist with key decisions regarding all major equipment repairs, ensuring that warranty or customer damage issues are addressed promptly.
• Ensure adequate availability of essential shop supplies for seamless operations.
• Serve as a liaison between the shop and office, addressing equipment issues such as breakdowns and customer damage.
• Demonstrate and instruct advanced troubleshooting/diagnoses and repair techniques.
• Provide training on repairing gas and diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical systems, and drive trains.
• Provide instruction in welding techniques including arc welding and brazing.
• Conduct inspections, servicing, testing, and refueling to ready status; maintain records.
