Job summary

Mark-Taylor is seeking an experienced Service Technician to maintain apartment communities in Phoenix, AZ. The role emphasizes make-ready units, preventive maintenance, and on-call support to ensure safety and quality across properties.

You will work with a small team, handle HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and pool care, and contribute to a reliable, resident-focused experience with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge in Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
• One or more industry specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, or similar).
• Service orientation and basic computer skills.
• 2+ years experience in apartment maintenance roles such as turn technician or work order technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, appliances, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and drywall issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on vacant units and monitor pool chemical balance.
• Conduct minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and key-cutting tasks.
• Inspect property for safety hazards and report to Facilities Manager.
• Share on-call duties and remain available in uniform.
• Monitor inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
• Train and mentor other service technicians.

Compensation

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $26.00/hour.
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications***

Requirements

In This Role You Will

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
• Train and mentor other Service Technician and Facilities Technicians
