Job summary

Mark-Taylor is seeking a Service Technician for Melody on Main in Mesa, AZ. You will handle maintenance repairs, perform make-readies, and ensure community upkeep while delivering five-star service that makes Mark-Taylor communities feel like home.

You should have hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliances, and possess strong customer service and time-management skills. This is a full-time, on-site role with on-call responsibilities and certification pay opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as apartment turn/make ready technician or work order technician preferred.
• Troubleshooting across HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliances.
• Excellent customer service with residents and team members.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and safety practices.
• Strong time management and prioritization of work orders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair minor HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care and ensure chemical balance and safety.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
• Inspect property for safety hazards and communicate with Facilities Manager.
• Share on-call duty and respond in uniform/badge when needed.
• Monitor inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.

Compensation:

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $22.00/hr.
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications***

Requirements

• Experience as apartment turn technician, make ready technician, or work order technician is highly desirable.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
• Excellent customer service skills with professional and timely communication with residents and team members.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, safety practices, and identifying potential issues before they become larger concerns.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work orders, make-readies, and on-call responsibilities.
• Team-oriented and accountable, with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Knowledge of building systems
• Service orientation.
• Basic computer skills.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

In This Role You Will:

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
