Job Description

The Lead Service Technician interfaces with customers regarding technical aspects of Hobart Service’s services. The Lead Service Technician is at an expert, lead skill level demonstrating proficiency and working knowledge of installation and service-related functions. Provides troubleshooting and problem resolution over the phone, assists with product updates, relays customer feedback, and ensures customer satisfaction. Provides guidance and training to non-technical staff and possesses thorough technical knowledge of assigned products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial food equipment.
  • Support safety procedures outlined in Hobart Service manuals.
  • Support organizational financial objectives through excellent customer relations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry and equipment.
  • Communicate with customers and promote additional services.
  • Support and mentor junior technicians.
  • Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance and adherence to safety policies.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with 7+ years of food equipment service experience or 4+ years of HVACR experience. Industry certification is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with tools and manuals.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and safety awareness.
Additional Information

Physical demands include lifting up to 75 lbs, climbing, extensive walking and driving, and operating machinery. Work environment involves travel up to 50%, exposure to various conditions, and flexible hours including nights and weekends.
