Job summary

McLean Affiliates in Simsbury, CT is seeking a Lead Server to deliver attentive dining service to residents and guests in a vibrant, resident-first environment. You will coordinate daily dining room operations and support Dining Ambassadors, ensuring accurate records and a welcoming atmosphere.

The role requires strong customer service, teamwork, and the ability to train and guide staff, with the opportunity for growth in a caring, family-like team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, organizational, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle resident concerns professionally and with care.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, holidays and one scheduled weekend per month.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, personalized service to residents and guests, including taking and entering orders, serving meals and beverages, monitoring tables, and responding to resident needs.
• Assist with takeout, meal delivery, special events/catering, holiday meals, and other dining functions.
• Address routine resident concerns and promptly elevate unresolved service, health, or safety issues to management.
• Coordinate service flow and staff assignments and serve as the primary dining-room resource when assigned.
• Train and support Servers and Dining Ambassadors and reinforce service standards.
• Provide shift coverage during Supervisor PTO, illness, or training, including opening/closing duties.
• Prepare dining room for service, stock areas, and maintain clean, organized spaces.
• Maintain accurate orders and dining records using dining and computer systems.
• Report shortages, maintenance issues, or safety concerns promptly.
