Job summary

Jewish Family Children’s Services of the Suncoast seeks a dedicated dining services staff member to deliver meals to residents, maintain kosher dining areas, and ensure cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and dining spaces.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, English proficiency, and completion of health and background checks. Pay is $25.73 per hour, with competitive wages, advancement opportunities, and paid sick leave.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in written and verbal English.
  • Must undergo a Physical exam, TB screening with negative TB prior to employment.
  • Influenza vaccination required during flu season (Sept–Mar).
  • Background check clearance/exemption from Department of Social Services after FBI/DOJ livescan before employment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver meals promptly and courteously, ensuring dietary needs are met.
  • Set tables and maintain cleanliness and organization in dining areas following kosher cuisine.
  • Maintain clean, orderly and safe kitchen and dining environment; proper storage of equipment and food.
  • Engage with residents and guests, answer questions about menu items and provide assistance as needed.
  • Assemble and deliver trays and to-go meals; present attractively.
  • Clear dishes and utensils from tables during and after service; keep dining area tidy.
  • Communicate special requests or dietary restrictions with kitchen staff.
  • Handle complex resident needs and manage shift changes, menus, census, reservations, and hosting duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $25.73 per hour


Job Type: Full-Time, Non-exempt


Shifts and Schedule Available:



  • Friday - Tuesday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, or

  • Wednesday - Sunday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Server or senior facilities experience is preferred

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

  • Proficient in written and verbal English

What are the Qualifications?



  • Must undergo a Physical exam, Tuberculosis Screening, resulting in a negative TB diagnosis prior to employment, and Influenza Vaccination (required during flu season: September to March)

  • Must obtain clearance or exemption approval from the Department of Social Services following FBI and DOJ livescan background check prior to employment

What Will I Be Doing?



  • Deliver meals promptly and courteously, ensuring each resident's dietary needs and restrictions are met

  • Set tables and maintain cleanliness and organization in dining areas following the kosher cuisine

  • Maintain clean, orderly and safe kitchen and dining room environment by ensuring proper storage of equipment, food and accessories. Handle food and beverage to meet the health department and RCFE (title 22) expectations

  • Engage with residents and guests, answering questions about menu items and providing assistance as needed

  • Assemble and deliver trays and “to-go” meals, ensuring they are presented attractively

  • Clear dishes and utensils from tables during and after meal service, ensuring a tidy dining environment

  • Work closely with kitchen staff to communicate special requests or dietary restrictions

  • Handle more complex resident needs, addressing shift change, printing menus, reporting census, managing reservations, acting as a host(ess), supervising servers during service, rearranging assignments when absenteeism occurs, and any other tasks as assigned
