Job summary

Harmony Senior Services, LLC is seeking a Lead Server to courteously serve resident and guest meals and to supervise daily server assignments. You will train staff, ensure coverage, and maintain dining room and kitchen standards.

You will oversee seating and timing, assist with special events and take-out orders, provide beverages, and support residents with service needs while upholding confidentiality and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Serv-Safe certification is required.
• Ability to read and follow simple instructions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced dining environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead server duties and supervise daily server assignments.
• Train new and current servers in service standards.
• Oversee seating and timing of meals to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Assist with menu orders and take-out orders for residents.
• Provide beverage service and maintain clean dining areas.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.

# Job DescriptionThe Lead Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting of dining room following meal service. The Lead Server is also responsible for supervising the daily assignments of the servers, ensuring proper training, as well as ensuring proper coverage to meet the business needs.Maintain a good working knowledge of all dining room and kitchen responsibilities and procedures Understands basic kitchen equipment operation (food processor, dishwasher, beverage machine, etc.) Maintain a clean work area in the kitchen, serving area, and dining room Understands proper table setting for each meal Maintains schedule for the servers to include call outs and coverage for all assigned shifts. Maintain daily assignments for the servers Assists with the interviewing and hiring process of applicants for Lead Server positions Conducts training for all new and current servers Maintains the daily food orders Required to post new menus daily/weekly Oversees seating and timing of meals and dining experience Oversees the process and set up for special events Assists residents when placing orders from the menu and the completion of take-out orders Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee/tea) Refill salt/pepper/sugar bowls prior to and after each meal Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor Understands sit-down service and proper serving techniques Has a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.) Knowledge of proper food storage and labeling techniques Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room Attends required in-services and staff meetings Must be attentive to special needs of residents including: mobility deficits, memory impairment, etc.) Assists with tray service Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident and associate information Interacts in a polite considerate manner to residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors Resolves complaints Completes all other duties assigned Requirements: Must have a High School Diploma or GED Must secure and maintain Serv-Safe certification Must be in clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene Must be able to read and follow simple instructions Must possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks Must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push and pull objects Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three (3) hours at a time Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feet Must be organized and willing to work well with other associates. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays Rate: $16/hr to $17.50/hr
