Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field.
• Experience leading and training teams (1+ years).
• Strong analytical, mathematical, writing, and attention to detail skills.
• Ability to make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with PCs; Windows-Word, Excel.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of basic laboratory skills, food preparation, and housekeeping.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the lab technician staff of 3 and ensure the successful execution of all sensory testing (Descriptive, Discrimination and Consumer panels).
• Schedule panels and allocate resources for support.
• Maintain and create Lab SOPs and best practices; train staff and contractors.
• Train technicians on proper food safety, food preparation and sensory protocols.
• Prepare samples, administer tests and record data accurately per SOPs.
• Approve overtime and procure raw materials for process runs as needed.
• Maintain electronic files, troubleshoot software, and keep lab orderly.
