Job summary

Cushing Terrell is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the planning, assessment, and design of central utility plants and district energy systems for healthcare, higher education, government, and industrial facilities in Denver.

You will work with autonomy as a technical specialist, mentor engineers, prepare master plans and feasibility studies, develop PFDs, P&IDs, control narratives, cost estimates, and oversee construction administration through startup and closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years designing central utility plants and district energy systems.
• Licensed PE or eligible by comity in the US.
• Ability to independently lead planning, analysis, and design of medium- and high-pressure steam systems.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.1, Boiler Code, NFPA, and IMC.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, assessment, and design of central utility plants and district energy systems.
• Develop utility master plans, feasibility studies, and condition assessments.
• Produce designs, calculations, PFDs, P&IDs, control narratives, and specs.
• Provide construction administration through startup and closeout.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to internal design standards.
• Support proposals and client relationships.
