Job summary

PRIME AE Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer I (PE) to lead electrical design across our growing MEP team. You will guide concept through construction, coordinating with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineers to meet codes and project requirements.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and delivering high-impact projects in healthcare, federal, education, and commercial markets from multiple Ohio offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical system design.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing in the relevant state (or ability to obtain).
• Experience designing electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, grounding and bonding, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with SKM and lighting photometric software Visual.
• Healthcare or federal projects experience preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of building codes, industry standards, and electrical design practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects through multiple phases of design and construction.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system design from concept through final construction documentation.
• Perform electrical engineering analyses and calculations to support system design and performance.
• Develop innovative solutions to design challenges across multiple project types.
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and contractors for integrated delivery.
• Review and apply applicable codes and standards related to electrical design.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers in the MEP department.
• Participate in design reviews and support construction-phase services as needed.
