Job summary

PRIME AE Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer I (PE) to lead electrical design across our growing MEP team. You will guide concept through construction, coordinating with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineers to meet codes and project requirements.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and delivering high-impact projects in healthcare, federal, education, and commercial markets from multiple Ohio offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical system design.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing in the relevant state (or ability to obtain).
• Experience designing electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, grounding and bonding, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with SKM and lighting photometric software Visual.
• Healthcare or federal projects experience preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of building codes, industry standards, and electrical design practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects through multiple phases of design and construction.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.

The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer I (PE Level) to join our growing MEP team in one of our offices across Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, or Indiana. In this role, you will lead the design and development of complex electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of building types and market sectors. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and field personnel to ensure electrical systems are designed and executed to meet project requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards. This position offers the opportunity to contribute technical expertise on high-impact projects while mentoring junior engineers and supporting multidisciplinary project teams from concept through construction. Project types include Military/Department of Defense facilities and bases, Healthcare, Federal, Justice, K-12, Higher Education, Corporate Commercial, Pharmacy, Retail, Multifamily & Assisted Living, Hospitality, Cultural & Historic, Data Centers, Industrial, and Residential.

What You'll Do:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead electrical system design efforts and support project teams through all phases of design and construction. You will provide technical leadership, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure that designs meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.
