Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Valid driver’s license; able to work in an active highway construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise survey crews and field technicians for the segment (mainline, bridges, drainage, walls, utilities).
  • Establish, maintain and verify horizontal/vertical control networks tied to the Master network.
  • Own the ORD 3D design model interface for the segment and coordinate with the design/BIM team.
  • Process, adjust and QA/QC field survey data with TBC (GNSS, robotic total station, laser scan).
  • Produce and certify monthly production and quantity measurements reconciled with Master quantities and pay estimates.
  • Deploy robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS, 3D laser scanning, and UAS for progress verification and as-built docs.
  • Support GPS/GNSS machine-control data pushes for grading and earthwork.
  • Create segment as-built records, DTMs and topographic surfaces; ensure QA/QC standards.
  • Coordinate with Project Survey Manager to keep datums and coding consistent across the corridor.
  • Provide verified data to project controls, scheduling and QA/QC teams for monthly reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with TDOT specs and the project survey management plan.
  • Coordinate with third-party surveyors and TDOT survey personnel on segment matters.
  • Maintain survey equipment inventory and calibration records; document QC.
