Job summary

Security 101 is seeking an experienced Commercial Security Lead Technician to join our Philadelphia Metro Team. We are looking for a technician with 4+ years of experience installing, servicing and programming commercial electronic security systems, particularly access control and IP video surveillance.

This role offers $35–$45 per hour, non-exempt, based on experience, technical skills, and product knowledge.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years of commercial electronic security service experience with access control and IP video.
• Strong knowledge of networked security systems and TCP/IP networking.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
• Ability to work independently or lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, program, test, and commission enterprise security systems with minimal supervision.
• Install and program networked access control and IP video systems.
• Install commercial intrusion alarms, visitor management, and IoT-connected systems.
• Utilize Fieldwire and network tools; support remote diagnostics.
• Work with manufacturer SDKs and APIs for system integration.

What You’ll Do

• Install, service, program, test, and commission when required, enterprise security systems with minimal supervision.
• Install and program networked access control and IP video systems.
• Install commercial intrusion alarm, visitor management, and IoT-connected systems.
• Experience utilizing software tools like Fieldwire and other network tools a plus.
• Support customers through remote diagnostics and on-site service.
• Work with manufacturer SDKs and APIs for system integration.

What We’re Looking For

• 4–7+ years of commercial electronic security service experience; strong experience with access control and IP video is required.
• Strong knowledge and skills with networked security systems and customer networks.
• Practical knowledge of TCP/IP, LANs, internet technologies, and network diagnostics.
• Ability to work independently or lead a team and resolve technical issues to the customer's satisfaction.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Technical school or military training in electronics or communications is preferred.

Current certification or proficiency in one of the following is a plus:

• Access Control: ProWatch, Gallagher, Ccure 9000, Lenel/S2, Genetec,
• Video: Genetec, Avigilon, Hanwha, Exacq,Axis. Milestone, IPConfigure

Physical & Other Requirements

Must be able to work in office and outdoor environments, climb ladders, operate boom/scissor lifts, and lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates must pass a background investigation and drug screening.
