Job summary

Alert Alarm Hawaii is seeking a Security Technician to install, program, and service access control, CCTV, intercom, and intrusion alarm systems. The lead will coordinate daily work, train technicians, and ensure safety, quality, and customer satisfaction on all projects.

The role requires 5–8 years of hands-on experience with security systems, plus OSHA 10 or higher certification. Reading CAD drawings and working with low-voltage cabling are essential. Travel between sites may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalency; technical or vocational training in electronics or low-voltage systems preferred.
• Must have 5-8 years of hands-on experience installing or servicing security systems, including wiring and programming intrusion control panels.
• Demonstrated leadership and/or mentoring experience.
• Ability to maintain professional customer relationships and promote the Company culture.
• OSHA 10 certification held or obtained within 90 days of hire; OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Verkada, VideoEdge, Victor, and Axis certifications or similar certifications preferred.
• Basic computer skills; Sedona or similar service management system experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads on-site execution of installation projects, ensuring safety, quality, and customer walkthroughs at closeout.
• Installs, programs, tests, and troubleshoots access control, CCTV, intercom, and intrusion systems on small and mid-size projects.
• Reads CAD drawings and labels low-voltage cabling to standards.
• Performs service calls and preventive maintenance, including after-hours and on-call.
• Coordinates daily work with Project Managers and other trades; sequences job site activities to stay on schedule.
• Onboard, train and mentor installation technicians, and support technical interviews for field candidates.
• Communicates job status and access needs with customers and coordinates scheduling.
• Reviews workmanship and documentation before close-out and escalates issues as needed.
