Job summary

Integrated Protection Services Inc is seeking a Security Technician to install project specific devices in accordance with fire alarm, building, and electrical codes. The role includes mentoring entry level technicians on sites and ensuring work complies with specifications.

You will read blueprints, run cabling (EMT/PVC), program security and access systems, and coordinate with project managers and other trades to complete jobs on time. Some travel and after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3–5 years of experience as an entry level technician or in a related field.
• OSHA-10 hour certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Must maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
• Lift, confined space, and other safety certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Install project devices per fire alarm, electrical, and building codes.
• Mentor, train, and coach entry level technicians on sites.
• Coordinate with project manager and other trades for timely completion.
• Monitor installation work of outside contractors for code compliance.
• Troubleshoot system problems and diagnose failures.
• Perform regular system inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Read blueprints and install cabling (EMT/PVC) per specs.
• Travel as needed and work after hours/weekends.
