Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to collaborate with AI, Enterprise Architecture, and Business Development to strengthen cybersecurity across federal information systems. The role guides security controls for cloud, network, and endpoints, and leads vulnerability management and compliance initiatives.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 7+ years in security engineering, including federal project experience and knowledge of NIST controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus 7+ years in security engineering.
• Experience working with the US Federal government in a security engineering capacity.
• Knowledge of NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171 controls.
• Strong CI/CD security background and network security fundamentals.
• Experience with cloud security in AWS and/or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on Information Security solutions and mentor engineers.
• Lead security projects and coordinate enterprise risk efforts.
• Implement and maintain information security solutions following best practices.
• Coordinate resources across teams and manage security-related program elements.
• Advise on security controls across cloud, network, and endpoint environments.
• Perform security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and remediation tracking.
• Collaborate with admins and CI/CD engineers to address risks.
• Develop security documentation and system security plans.
• Support Zero Trust and secure configuration management initiatives.
