Job summary

Flywire seeks a Lead Security Engineer to set the technical direction across defensive platform building and active operational defense. You will supervise senior and junior engineers, translate risks for leadership, and drive the security engineering roadmap.

Based in the US, you will mentor teams, own cloud architecture decisions, and coordinate with Cyber leadership to align security with business goals. This role blends hands-on security with strategic leadership.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive security engineering experience across defensive or offensive disciplines.
• Hands-on credibility with ability to lead security engineering roadmap and priorities.
• Experience in cloud security, IAM, Zero Trust design, and incident leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical strategy across secure software design and cloud defense.
• Direct secure engineering and cloud defense, including IAM and Zero Trust decisions.
• Lead offensive assurance through penetration testing and incident response leadership.
• Mentor engineers and partner with leadership on hiring and career development.
