Job summary

Flywire is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to drive technical direction across AppSec, CloudSec, and SecOps. You will set security strategy, oversee offensive and defensive programs, and mentor engineers while reporting to Cyber leadership.

The role blends hands-on execution with roadmap ownership and collaboration with executives. As a leader in security, you will guide incident response, IAM and Zero Trust decisions, and coordinate across teams to reduce risk while enabling business growth.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive security engineering experience.
• Deep expertise across defensive and offensive security disciplines.
• Experience with cloud security architecture, IAM, and Zero Trust.

Responsibilities

• Define and own technical strategy across secure design and cloud defense.
• Lead penetration testing, red team activities, and detection engineering.
• Mentor engineers and influence hiring and career ladders.
• Present security risks to executive leadership.
