Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Scientist in Thousand Oaks to lead mammalian expression and cell line engineering for large-molecule therapeutics. You will drive expression strategies and platform development in a collaborative, matrixed environment.

The role centers on enabling data-driven optimization and automation to accelerate biologics discovery and development within oncology, inflammation, general medicine, and rare diseases.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD/PharmD with postdoctoral experience or equivalent.
• MS with 3+ years in cell biology relevant to mammalian expression.
• BSc with 5+ years in cell biology relevant to expression and development.

Responsibilities

• Lead mammalian expression and host cell engineering strategies across protein therapeutics programs.
• Develop and optimize expression platforms, data-driven approaches, and automation-enabled workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance discovery and development.
