Job summary

Prellis Biologics in Berkeley seeks a Principal Scientist to lead analytical characterization of monoclonal antibodies, bispecifics, Fc-fusion proteins, and other complex biologics for candidate selection and preclinical development.

You will apply biophysical and analytical techniques to evaluate quality, developability, stability, and structure, collaborating closely with Antibody Discovery, Protein Engineering, and CMC teams. Flexible remote/hybrid options are available.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of industry experience in analytical characterization of therapeutic antibodies, bispecifics, Fc-fusion proteins or related biologics.
• Hands-on experience with protein characterization techniques including Tm, Tagg, AC-SINS, HIC, cIEF, aSEC, BVP assays.
• Ability to independently design experiments, analyze data, solve technical challenges, and communicate findings effectively.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical characterization of therapeutic antibodies, bispecifics, Fc-fusion proteins, and related biologics.
• Conduct biophysical and developability assessments using Tm, Tagg, AC-SINS, HIC, cIEF, aSEC, and BVP assays.
• Generate and interpret analytical data to support lead candidate selection, formulation, stability, and comparability.
• Design, execute, troubleshoot, and optimize analytical methods for protein characterization.
• Prepare clear reports and present findings to cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Antibody Discovery & Protein Engineering teams and maintain lab documentation.
