Job summary

Penn Manor School District is seeking a Head Custodian at the Conestoga location to maintain a clean, safe, and operational facility for students and staff. This role supervises assigned custodians and coordinates maintenance tasks, ensuring readiness for daily operations and events.

The position requires a high school diploma, 1–2 years of supervisory experience, and knowledge of cleaning chemicals. Daily hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years of head custodian supervision/leadership experience.
• Ability to read and interpret operation and maintenance manuals.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.
• Valid PA driver's license or access to independent transportation.
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate standard office equipment.
• Pre-employment requirements as designated by PA School Code.

Responsibilities

• Prepares facilities for daily operations and safety readiness.
• Instructs staff on cleaning standards and safety procedures.
• Delivers supplies and materials as assigned.
• Arranges furnishings and equipment for meetings and events.
• Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
• Responds to safety and operational concerns to maintain a safe environment.
• Maintains supplies and equipment for facility upkeep.
• Inspects facilities for safe operations and required repairs.
• Performs any other duties assigned by leadership.
