Boone County Schools is seeking a Head Custodian for Boone County High School. The role is a full-time, 260-day contract with healthcare and retirement benefits.

Hours are 6:30am–3:00pm, with compensation between $15.18 and $22.87 per hour based on experience. The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, at least three years custodial experience, and the ability to perform heavy physical labor, lift 50 pounds, and read and follow written directions.

• Follow guidelines, policies and directions from supervisor.
• Keep building and premises clean and safe at all times.
• Regulate HVAC systems for appropriate temperatures and efficiency.
• Shovel, plow and maintain walks and parking areas.
• Check exits and panic hardware during occupancy hours.
• Raise/lower flags as required.
• Clean floors, furniture, fixtures and glass on schedule.
• Clean corridors after school and as needed.
• Disinfect toilets and clean fixtures daily.
• Remove waste and trash from building.
• Wash windows at least twice yearly.
• Perform yard keeping for safety and aesthetics.
• Clean chalkboards weekly.
• Maintain floors in good condition.
• Report damage to principal immediately.
• Remain on premises during hours and when required by Principal.
• Open/close building daily, manage lights/heating/windows/doors.
• Move furniture as directed by Principal.
• Comply with trash disposal laws and procedures.
• Make minor repairs (chairs, desks, locks).
• Daily kitchen cleaning and waste removal.
• Shelve deliveries and manage inventory.
• Inspect building and campus for safety and cleanliness.
• Assist with orientation of new custodial staff.
• Assist schedule planning and coordination of custodial services.
• Assist in preparing work schedules.
