Job summary

Boone County Schools in Gray Middle School is seeking a Custodian to provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff. This hourly, full-time role runs 8 hours per day, 260 days per year, with competitive benefits and paid holidays.

Responsibilities include following guidelines, maintaining floors and facilities, operating heating and cooling systems, shoveling and cleaning, guarding exits, and keeping classrooms in good order.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and follow written directions.
• Able to perform heavy physical labor.
• Able to lift and move objects weighing 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Good personal habits and ability to relate to people.
• Demonstrates aptitude for assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Follow written guidelines and supervisor directions.
• Keep building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Regulate heat, ventilation and AC for seasonal comfort and efficiency.
• Shovel, plow and maintain walks and parking areas as needed.
• Check exits and panic hardware during occupancy hours.
• Raise and lower the US flag as required.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum floors and clean fixtures and glass on schedule.
