Job summary

Conant High School is seeking a Food and Nutrition Services Manager to oversee daily cafeteria operations and ensure efficient, compliant food service in the building.

You will supervise staff, maintain standards for quality, nutrition, sanitation, safety, and customer service, and coordinate with district administration to meet program goals. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on operational skills.

Qualifications

• Illinois Food Sanitation Certification
• Knowledge of food purchasing, sanitation procedures, and equipment operation
• Experience in school food service management
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace
• Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, management, and customer service skills
• Ability to bend, stoop, turn, squat, and lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds
• Ability and willingness to respond to after-hours calls via telephone and work overtime to respond to emergencies (broken cooling equipment, etc.) as directed

Responsibilities

• Manages the daily operation of the school's food service program.
• Provides leadership and supervision to food service staff to support efficient operations, quality service, and a positive work environment.
• Ensures established standards for food quality, nutrition, sanitation, safety, financial accountability, and customer service are maintained.
• Supports the goals of the Food and Nutrition Services Department and communicates operational needs and concerns to District-level administration.
