Job summary

Ascend Rehab Services Inc is seeking a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist to support K-12 students in Contra Costa County, with leadership opportunities supervising SLPAs and CFs and mentoring new clinicians.

You will conduct evaluations, develop IEP goals, provide direct and group therapy, and collaborate with teachers, OTs, psychologists, and school staff to promote student success. A competitive package and relocation assistance are offered.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Active CA SLP License (or eligibility).
• Prior pediatric or school-based experience preferred.
• Passion for mentorship, collaboration, and supporting clinician growth.

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech and language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for students with a range of communication needs.
• Provide direct therapy services (individual and group) and support implementation of evidence-based interventions across school settings.
• Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with SLPAs, providing clinical guidance, support and oversight to ensure quality service delivery and compliance.
• Provide Clinical Fellowship (CF) supervision, mentorship, feedback, and professional development support to emerging clinicians.
• Develop and implement IEP goals related to speech, language, social communication, pragmatics, and AAC needs as appropriate.
• Participate in IEP meetings, communicate with families, and collaborate closely with teachers, OTs, psychologists, and school staff to support student success.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, supervision requirements, and compliance with school and state guidelines.
