Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools seeks a Lead Satellite Cafeteria Assistant to oversee daily satellite kitchen operations and ensure safe, efficient meal service under the Central Kitchen Manager. You will lead staff, maintain production records, support meal accountability, and promote high standards of customer service and food safety in the district's nutrition program.

Qualifications

• Possess a current Washington State Food Workers Card.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to operate a computer.
• Proficiency in Nutrition Services systems (Health-E-Pro, Mealtime).
• Experience as VPS kitchen cafeteria assistant.
• Experience stepping up as VPS Lead Satellite Kitchen Cafeteria Assistant for 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train kitchen staff in daily operations and compliance.
• Forecast and order food and supplies for satellite kitchen.
• Maintain production records, meal counts, and POS data.
• Ensure compliance with USDA guidelines and HACCP procedures.
• Provide feedback on menus, operations, and staff performance.
• Serve as role model and resource for cafeteria assistants.
