Job summary

Goodwill of Central & Northern Arizona is hiring an Equipment Operator in Phoenix, AZ. The role operates baling machines and a sit-down forklift to process donated goods for sale to salvage or recycle vendors, following all safety policies and PPE requirements.

The position requires a forklift certification, English proficiency, and 3+ years of experience. Training others and adhering to daily safety protocols are essential components of the job.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Must possess a Forklift Certification Certificate.
• 3+ years’ experience.
• Ability to be trained, train others, and take direction.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.

Responsibilities

• Operates baling machines to compress goods into bales.
• Loads/unloads merchandise and uses forklift to move containers.
• Performs pre-shift forklift inspection and safety checks.
• Maintains clean work area and follows safety rules.
• Assists leadership and may train other Equipment Operators.
• May support other Retail Operations Center departments as needed.
