Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona is seeking an Equipment Operator Trainee for the Salvage Baler at the ROC in Phoenix. This safety-sensitive role trains for 90 days to operate balers and forklifts, progressing to an Equipment Operator upon successful completion.

You will handle donated goods, safeguard equipment, comply with safety rules, and assist across ROC departments as needed. Excellent attendance and adherence to core values are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Must possess a Forklift Certification Certificate or pass our Forklift Certification class.
• Ability to be trained and take direction.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Safeguards donated goods and reports incidents of theft or misappropriation.
• Safeguards equipment including forklifts and bale machines.
• Ensures safe load handling and that each machine is in working order.
• Performs pre-shift forklift and baler inspections and follows safety rules.
• Operates baling machines to compress goods into bale.
• Loads/unloads merchandise containers and moves them safely.
