Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with leadership in the absence of store management. You will help set up plan-o-grams, assist customers, stock shelves, and maintain store standards to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking, operating the cash register, and upholding security practices. Prior supervisory experience and basic math skills are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math operations (addition, subtraction, percentages)
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits
• Experience with IBM cash registers or similar systems
• Understanding of safety and cash-control policies and practices
• Strong interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise following store procedures.
• Maintain shelves, face merchandise, rotate stock and build displays.
• Assist customers by locating items and answering questions.
• Operate cash register, collect payment, and bag purchases.
• Open/close the store as directed by management.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized store environment.
